Designed in collaboration with David Green of Greenstick Surf, the Vanguard single ski is in production. Greenstick Surf is supporting George Haynes with this mean looking machine.

This ski is made to current ILS specifications for use in ILS World Championships.

All sales are conducted by Greenstick Surf.

An adjustable leg length option will be available at the end of May. Using a push button stainless steel slide for the footplate system to give easy adjustment (requires no tools) and means no rust or brittle plastic to break or twist.

15 year old Scoob Lark approached me last year about a sponsorship deal. We decided to wait to see if there was a growth spurt this winter, before fitting him out with a Bladerunner Xi single ski. I look forward to watching Scoob taking the line honours for his age group in the 2011 competition season.

I have been involved in surf life saving since I was 4 years old – my highlight to date was winning the National Ironman and ski titles – which I would like to retain this year. I was also the youngest competitor making the Ironman final at the Legacy Eliminator at Falmouth Beach.

I study at Pilton Community College and the options I chose were G.C.S.E P.E, Resistant Materials and Geography. After school I am going to go College and hopefully on to University to study Biology and P.E. I would like to carry on enjoying the sport, coach others and pass on my knowledge and experience.
I’m hoping to repay Pete’s support by having a successful 2011!

I am in my first year at Truro College where I study Sport Performance and Excellence. I plan to continue my education to university and eventually to teach sport at secondary level, this would also include going abroad to teach. I would consider myself an ambitious person and as my Junior School headmaster quoted in my leaving book, the one word he would use to describe me is irrepressible.

Surf Life Saving is very important to me as it enables me to do something I am very passionate about and allows me to challenge myself into reaching new goals. My greatest achievement is getting into the Junior European Great Britain Squad and travelling to Belgium to compete where I won 2 gold’s, a bronze, a 4th and a 5th.

I was also selected as reserve for the Senior World Championship squad. My goals for this year would be to make the Junior European Great Britain Team again and hopefully the Senior European Squad and of course 2012 World Championships in Australia, where I plan to stay and take a training gap year. My long term goal is to be World Champion at the Iron Woman.

In 2009 I was stoked to win a voucher worth £200 discount off any Gaisford Surf Equipment. When going to see Pete to pick up a paddle we started talking about sponsorship. Pete was really supportive and allowed me to test drive and promote the new 2010 Gaisford Adjustable Bladerunner XI and become the youngest Gaisford Team Rider. I couldn’t have progressed as far as I have in the sport without lots of help from Pete.

The ski has helped me tremendously though out the past 18 months with my Long distance Ski paddling, Sprinting and my Iron Man racing. To be racing on one of the most high-tech spec’d ski’s on the water is amazing. The ski is very stable, really smooth when paddling and is an exceptionally fast craft when accelerating to maximum speed. The new Streamlined footwell helps me when paddling to leg drive, rotate and reach so much further forward.

I’m in my last year at Redruth School and hoping to get into the sixth form and study a level 3 NVQ Sports Diploma that includes courses in Sports Massage and Gym Instruction. I hope to go to University at either UCP Marjon in Plymouth or Cardiff to study Sports Physio Therapy.

My best discipline is ski and have one the greatest coach’s in the UK – Glenn Eldridge. My favourite race type has to be the Iron Man because it includes the three disciplines swim, board and ski – all of which I really enjoy. My favourite Event of the Year has to be the Legacy Iron Man Series organised by Mark Redrup. Its challenging being a younger competitor but great fun.

In the next few years I’m aiming to achieve National Ski and Iron man Titles, race well for Portreath and hopefully make the GB Boot Camp and if I’m lucky enough get in the Junior GB Team.

Gaisford Surf Equipment has been supporting me since 2002. They provide me with a top spec. racing ski – a BladeRunner XI – which I use for training and racing in the UK and abroad. It is uniquely manufactured using the Resin Infusion process, a vacuum bag system that produces the strongest ski possible. I am also especially lucky to have had some of the coolest designs out there! I’ve been using a Gaisford Bladerunner since I was 16 and wouldn’t want to paddle any other ski. So much so that I once put one on a plane to Egypt so I could race it the World Championships. I believe the Xi is the most comfortable and fastest design available, as well as the most durable. If I want to paddle my best I need to be on a Bladerunner.

Although a surf-girl at heart, I’m now focused on training in K1 (kayak singles) and K4 (kayak fours) to pursue my dream of winning gold at the Olympic Games. I’ve been a member of the Great Britain Surf Life Saving Team since 2002, and was European Ski Champion in both 2003 and 2005. I made the transition to flatwater racing in 2006 after joining Exeter Canoe Club, and was selected to represent Great Britain.

I was born in Cornwall and hail from the village of Portreath where I’m a member of Portreath S.L.S.C. I’ve always been sporty – netball, hockey, cross country, athletics, anything that would get me out of homework – and first joined the surf club when I was eight. I have a sister called Holly who is also a talented kayaker and surf lifesaver, as well as an awesome netball player. After passing my first year at Oxford University I transferred, and graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA in History in 2007.

I still haven’t quite decided whether I’d like to be a journalist, CPS lawyer or primary school teacher – but I definately want to have a family. I also like drawing and playing the guitar but with all my training I don’t have enough time to be any good at either!
